PRO Axle Puller / Inserter Instructions
The PRO Axle Puller and Inserter tool makes it easy to remove and install pinewood derby axles without damaging the wheel or the axle.
The end with the U shaped slot is used to pull axles out.
The other end, nearest to the handle is used to push axles in.
The easy-grip handle makes these operations practically fool proof.
This tool is made from steel, so it will not bend or break.
How to remove an axle
To remove an axle, slide the U shaped slot over (or under) the axle head and using the handle to grip the tool, gently pull.
The axle will easily pull away from the car as shown.
How to insert your axle
The other end of this tool, nearest to the handle has a concave area that is used to insert the axle.
The concave area fits perfectly over the axle head.
With the axle inserter end pressed firmly against the axle head, push the axle in.
Our Wheel Spacer Tool makes an ideal complementary Tool to get the exact spacing between the wheel hub and the car body.
Insert and Remove axles in a snap!
Tips & Hints
A lathed wheel means the wheel was turned at a high speed and "sanded" with a cutting tool. Lathed Wheels are perfectly tuned around the axis of rotation giving you the highest performance.
When adding Nyoil to your axles, "less is more"! Only use one or two drops per axle and wipe off any excess oil. The oil should not be run down your axle.
Don't put a round peg (axle) in a square hole! Axle slots are square but your axles are round, making it difficult to get them to go in straight. Use a drill press or the PRO Driller to redrill the axle slot so you have a straight round hole to insert your axles
