Specialized Pinewood Derby Tools to build and fine tune your car...
PRO Driller Tool
Straight Axles = Greater Speed
For maximum speed, axle holes must be absolutely square to the pinewood derby car body and parallel to each other.
With the PRO Driller, you can easily create new, straight axle holes or accurately align your axle slots with only a hand drill.
Includes optional guide holes to raise a wheel.
A perfectly sized 2.2mm drill bit and Instructions are included.
PRO Axle Puller and Inserter
Insert and Remove Axles Without Damage
How do you cleanly insert axles into those tight slots?
How to remove stuck axles without damaging your wheels?
One end of this handy Tool easily glides your axles into the slot.
The other end is used to easily grip the axle head and gently pull it out.
The Axle Inserter and Puller Tool is essential if you are using Ultra-Lite wheels which can be damaged when pulling them in and out.Instructions
Wheel Spacer Gauge
If your wheels are too tight, your car slows dramatically. If they are too loose, your car wobbles, also slowing your car down.
The Wheel Spacer is a stainless steel "feeler gauge" that sets the exact spacing between your wheel hub and car body so your car runs at optimal speed.
Just slide the Wheel Spacer over your axle and push the axle in until it is snug against the Wheel Spacer. Remove, and voila, perfect spacing.
The Wheel Spacer tool makes this critical adjustment fast, easy and perfect, every time.
Consider our complementary tool, the Axle Puller and Inserter, to insert your axles easily. One end is used to insert and the other end is used to remove axles without damaging your wheels (or your fingers!).

Pinewood Derby Drill Bit
The perfect fit your axles need!
This is the perfect-sized drill bit for pinewood derby axle holes! This #43 drill bit is .089" (or .25mm), which is just big enough to allow you to hand-insert your axles, so you can push your axles in with your fingers instead of a hammer!
This gives you the perfect diameter to hand insert your axles, saving your fingers and insuring that your axles go in straight.
We have found that a #44 drill bit is too small, making it impossible to push axles in with your fingers, adding risk of bending or breaking an axle before the race even begins! This #43 gives a snug fit while making it easy to safely insert your axles.
This drill bit works perfectly in our PRO Driller Tool.

Tips & Hints
Make your car slim. If your car is too chunky, there will be lots of weight in the wood, leaving less weight for your weights. You want lots of weight so you can move the center of gravity to the optimal point to maximize inertia.
Tungsten weights are ideal for pinewood derby cars. Tungsten is about 1/3 smaller than a zinc piece with the same weight. Therefore, you can pack Tungsten weights in a smaller area to optimize your center of gravity to maximize inertia giving you greater speed at the finish gate.
When adding Nyoil to your axles, "less is more"! Only use one or two drops per axle and wipe off any excess oil. The oil should not be run down your axle.
We came in fourth place; very respectable, given it was our first time. Thanks very much for helping us overcome our building weaknesses with great products.

I ordered a set of your BSA wheels and axels last minute on Wednesday for overnight delivery. Our race was on Friday. We finished in 6th out of 80 cars, and will be going to the Divisional Race! My son was never happier! Thanks again!

We got a "Most Realistic" for the Humvee and an 4th place with the "wedge." You would have thought my seven-year-old twin grandsons had won college scholarships! I was a hero. Thanks, again. I'll probably be back next year, Lord willing.
